The purpose of the Where Hope Lives program is to rescue, stabilize and rebuild the lives of these girls and young women by addressing the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of these uniquely resilient individuals who have been victimized and have survived human trafficking through sexual exploitation. For victims, aftercare services are paramount to assist with the negative effects felt every day and for years to come.
This comprehensive program provides access to medical, psychological, and legal services and helps these young women relearn healthy choices, develop accountability and refine life and workplace skills. These steps all aim to prepare each woman to start living a healthy, independent life.
Where Hope Lives is split into four phases - each phase is designed to meet specific needs and provide a structure to their recovery.
The Rescue phase involves outreach to current trafficking victims offering them assistance to a safe location and a way off the streets.
Upon entering Where Hope Lives facility victims rest, shower, and eat while our dedicated staff assess and begin to address their medical and physical needs.
Once a point of stabilization has been reached, the young women transition into the 4-phase program.
The program model utilizes an independently tailored 4-phase system allowing residents time to reset their foundation by practicing a regular routine, obtaining personal identity documents, creating long-term and short-term goals and making decisions about their next steps. Each phase is strategically themed for an aspect of healing that leads them toward a fully restored life in the community. Each phase is also timed according to the speed at which each young woman learns and progresses.
Programming focuses on making positive choices;building skills such as communication; conflict resolution; creating and maintaining boundaries; effective problem-solving; and decision-making; taking good care of oneself; making and keeping commitments, parenting classes; and managing every day life.
To get their lives on track, these women are provided everything from food, clothing, medical treatment, legal aid, educational assistance, job and life skills training. All resources are provided free of charge.
